THUMBS UP for DIY!
Hey everyone!! I noticed I had been slacking on DIY videos, so I filmed a few & am slowly starting to get them up!! It takes a while to finish a project since I can only film outside when the sun’s out, but we finally finished! Richard, thankfully, had a lot of patience while I filmed. So the inspiration behind this mirror, my old stand up mirror broke, I now have bad luck for 7 years and I went shopping around for a new one. I realized that pretty bordered standup mirrors are $50+!! That’s ridiculous, especially when I’m trying to redo my entire house at once- lol. So I decided to make one, I looked on Pinterest for some inspo, and got to crafting. I LOVE how this one came out, super simple & looks perfect in my room. Like I said, you can add embellishments to the border as well to spice it up and custom match it to your room. Down below I attached some blogs with ideas on that! Hope y’all enjoyed this video!

Full Length Mirror: $5 Target, Lowe’s or Walmart
2 1×4 Wood Boards: $4 each
Liquid Nails Wood Glue: $3
Box Cutter/Razor/Scissors (whichever- BE CAREFUL when doing this step)
Minwax Wood Finish: Natural (8oz) $7 Lowe’s
Optional (if cutting at home):
Some type of Saw
1 Gather all your supplies. Pick the sides of wood you want facing up. (The “pretty side”)
2 Measure 48″ on both boards. Make your mark on the “ugly side”.
3 Cut (or have it cut at the hardware store) the boards with a saw, at a 45° angle.
4 The smaller pieces should be cut at 17 1/4″.
5 Peel the backing off the back of the mirror. Cut along the edges with a cutter to detach the glue that’s holding the frame on. SLIDE the frame off, DO NOT BEND!! You will break your mirror.
6 Stain the wood, allow time to dry in between coats. My stain said 4-6 hours, so I did 6 to be sure. And I did 3 coats.
7 Once dry, glue the edges of the front of the mirror and attach it to the frame. Apply pressure on the edges so it dries tightly. We used textbooks.
TA DA!! You’re finished, so easy!
